FAQs

Why has the name changed?

We were told to change the name by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD), as they considered that the original name 'Dickytummy' constituted a 'Medicinal Claim'.

We try to stay within the VMD regulations but their interpretation of what constitutes a medicinal claim is at best arbitrary.

VMD has a very close relationship with the pharmaceutical industry and we believe both parties would rather supplement companies, in general, did not exist.

Products supplied by the veterinary profession are very expensive.  When purchasing a veterinary supplied product you are of course also paying for expert veterinary advice and diagnosis and we would never advocate not seeking veterinary advice when required.

We see using Montytummy as the step before seeking veterinary advice.  If your dog has loose motions then use Montytummy and it will usually stop straight away.  If it lasts more than a couple of days then seek veterinary advice.
